
It originated as a castle in the 14th century but was largely rebuilt by John Nash in about 1800.The principal remains of the medieval structure are the gatehouse and a tower. A current member of the family shall take us around the house.
We shall also visit Holme Lacy, the other great Scudamore house in Herefordshire and now a hotel. The church there contains a stunning series of Scudamore monuments.
